Week 7
We are learning to strengthen our Whare (ourselves) by doing things that are good for our hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), wairua (spirit) and whānau (family).
This week, have some fun choosing something each day to 'strengthen your whare'. (Fitness can count towards both 'fitness' and Tapa Whā). Choose from the drop down options.

Week 5
Answer these 4 questions for 3 different experiences this week. They could be Swimming, lunchtime or in class. Write them in your small note book and include the date.
Reflection Tapa Wha
Here's an example
1. I was feeling a bit sick and it was also making feel sad
2. Tinana and Wairua
3. It was negative because I felt crumby and started getting frustrated with everything
4. I realised it wasn't the stuff around me that I was annoyed at, it was just my Tinana (body) and that it wouldn't last. I took it easy and just watched a movie to distract me. A nap also helped.
Reflection Tapa Wha
- What was happening? (describe the situation)
- Which part of your Tapa wha did this affect? (wairua, hinengaro, tinana, whanau)
- Was this positive or negative and why?
- How did or could you improve the hauora of yourself or others? Could you have done or thought something different. Another way to think of it is 'how could you strengthen your whare'?

Week 2-3 - The whanau (social health)
This week we will be reflecting on how sport challenges and strengthens our four walls (Tapa wha)
We are making sociograms of our network of friends and family. Using colour and space we can symbolically represent our relationships with other people and reflect on which of these support our social health. Below is a small example for a group of students. You should include yourself in the middle a long with family, friends and perhaps pets too.
